Royal Wedding Makeup: The Art of Subtlety

May 22, 2018

Meghan Markle's makeup at last week's royal wedding showcased her glowing skin, defined brows, soft smokey eye and subtle pink lips and has been described by the beauty media as "effortlessly natural", "minimalist chic", and "refined glamour". InStyle magazine even said Meghan "set new royal beauty standards".

Dior beauty brand ambassador (and Meghan's old friend) Daniel Martin was by her side in the UK to complete the wedding look which was flawlessly simple and allowed the new Duchess' glowing skin and freckles to shine.

Meghan's former make up artist Lydia Sellers said to Refinery 29 she's "so confident with herself and her look, and she sticks with that."

A common request from Meghan was "Every time I'd do her makeup, she'd say, 'Can we just make sure my freckles are peeking through? I don't want a ton of foundation'."

She paired her fresh complexion with a pale pink satin finish lip, subtle smokey eye-shadow, and dark fluffy lashes.

Meghan's barely there makeup look is tipped to be a positive influence on this years bridal trends and will give brides the confidence to rock a more natural look which was essentially a more refined version of her everyday look.
